Minneapolis Wedding Venue
Getting married at Aria in the Minneapolis North Loop? Steve Lunden Photography is a documentary-style wedding photographer who understands what makes this former-theater space so striking to shoot: the 30-foot ceilings, the exposed brick, the chandeliers, and the low, dramatic light that rewards a photographer who comes prepared.
Check Your DateAria is one of the most dramatic wedding venues in the Twin Cities: a former 1890s warehouse turned theater turned event space in the heart of the North Loop. For a documentary photographer, that history is a gift. Every corner of the room has character, and the day unfolds against a backdrop that already feels cinematic. The job is simply to stay out of the way and let it happen.
The approach is the same as every Steve Lunden Photography wedding: real moments first, minimal interruption, and a gallery that feels like a genuine record of your day rather than a series of stiff poses against a pretty wall.
Aria's signature features (the 30-foot ceilings, original brick, crystal chandeliers, and gallery-style art) make for stunning wide environmental shots, but they also create a real lighting challenge. The space is indoor-only with tall, moody light, which is exactly why off-camera lighting, included in every package, matters here. It keeps faces clean and warm while preserving the dramatic mood of the room rather than flattening it with harsh on-camera flash.
The mezzanine and balcony open up sweeping reception frames (the whole room, dance floor, and chandeliers in a single shot) while the brick walls and warm bar areas give intimate, textured backdrops for the quieter moments between events.
One of the best things about an Aria wedding is what is right outside the door. The North Loop and Warehouse District are full of brick facades, iron, cobblestone, and industrial texture that photograph beautifully for couple portraits, and most of it is a short walk away. We can step out for ten or fifteen minutes during the day and come back with portraits that feel like the city itself.
Because Aria is indoor-only, it is also a genuinely great choice for a Minnesota winter wedding. The day looks just as good in January as it does in June, and your timeline never depends on the weather.
After you inquire, the first step is a conversation about your day: your timeline, the moments that matter most, and any specific shots on your list. A pre-wedding consultation is included with every package, and a walk-through of Aria can be arranged ahead of time to plan portrait spots and map how the light moves through the space.
Your gallery is delivered within 4 to 6 weeks at full resolution with a personal print release. No watermarks, no restrictions on personal use. The Signature package includes priority turnaround.
North Loop venues like Aria book up early, and peak-season Saturdays often go 9 to 12 months in advance. If Aria is on your shortlist, reach out to check availability before your date is taken. A 50% retainer secures the date, with the balance due 30 days before the wedding.
All packages include an online gallery, full print release, and pre-wedding consultation. Packages can be customized to fit your day.
